The police raided the houses of alt leading Sinn Feiners, including Count "Plunkett, Arthur Tom Kelly, M.P., and lira. Thomas Clarke, whose husband was executed in 1916, but the Sinn Feiners were not at home. They evidently had t hint to expect the police, so what arfests were made were unimportant.

' An armed vessel has arrived at Kingstown, and has embarked a number of Smn Fein prisoners. Strong military precautions were taken, and troops, in full marching order, guarded the dock. Tie prisoners arrived in motor lorries, guarded by tanks and armoured motor can. The vessel soon afterwards departed, it is understood for England. The pritonjrs came from other parts of Ireland than Dublin, where a round-up occurred later.—Aus.-NJZ. Cable Assn. A message from Dublin states that a hundred policemen and five hundred soldiers, wearing steel helmets, took part in a raid on the Mansion House. Ibe Bokliars, who arrived in lorries, had their bayonfts fixed, and even earned Lewis guns. Soldiers formed a cordon round the Mansion House, while the police searched the rooms.—Times Service. THE HOME RULE BILL.

OPPOSITION TO NEW PROPOSALS. Received Jlec. 14, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 13. The introduction of the Home Rule pill has been postponed. The Morning Post says there is a sharp division of opinion in the Cabinet upon the scheme in two Parliaments, with a Senate containing an equal number of representatives for each as a connecting link. TBI chief difference of Opinion is one regarding finance, and the control of Customs and excise duties by the Parliament at Westminster.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Received Dec. 14,11.55 p.m. London, Dec. 13. -The Daily News states the Catholic Hierarchy has received the substance of Ihe Home Rule Bill, and overwhelmingly condemned the partition proposals. The Nationalists and Unionists of South Watt Ireland also oppose it, and all parties scout the idea of an Irish Council.— United Service.
