Chrlstchurch, Dec. 10. At Aldington market there was a, larger entry of store sheep, and the sale, though weaker at the opening, firmed well to late rates.-. Woolly wether hoggets 23s 2d to 27s lOd, woolly ewe hoggets 31s 3d, ordinary 2-tooth wethers 203 3d to 21s Sd, good 22s to 26s 7d, 2, 4, and 6-tooth wethers 24s lOd to 30s 3d, ordinary 4-tooth WBthers 22s 8d to 24s 9d, good forward 26s to 30s 3d, 4 and Ctooth wethers 27s to 28s Bd, ordinary 2-tootb ewes 25s to 26s 2d, good 2 and 4-tooth ewes 30s Id, good 4-tooth ewes 29s Id to 31s 3d, fairly good 4-tooth woolly eves 34s lid, good, sound, and f.m. owes and lambs, all counted, 19s 6d to 21s, Inferior f.to. eves, with lambs, 14s Bfl to 18s 5d (all counted), good f.m. woolly ewes, with lambs, to 24s Bd, 2, 4, 6 and 8-tootli vroolly ewes to 30s 9d. Pat lambs: 1240 penned, as against 560 last week. Values declined a little. Is to la 6d per head, though not as much as was expected. Extra prime to 35s 6d, prime 28s to 30s, medium 25s 8d to 27s <Sd, lighter 22s 6d to 24s 9d. Fat sheep: Good yarding. Sale opened firm, but weakened towards the end, prices then being appreciably lower. Extra prime wethers 52s 6d, prime 45s to 48s, woolly 55s 6d, medium 35s to 44s 6d, lighter 27s Sd to 335, prime ewes 41s to 455, medium 35s to 40s 9d, lighter 24s to 33s Id, hoggets 26s fid to 335. Fat cattlo: A yarding of over 389 head, the bulk of the entry being prune There was a keen demand for good stuff at the start, but second quality was neglected. The sale weakened badly at the close. Prime steers £24 to £3O, medium steers £lB to £23, lighter steers £l4 to £l6 15», unfinished and inferior steers £6 7s 6d to £l3 10s, prime heifers £l3 10s to £2O 10s lighter helfors £9 10s to £l2 15s, prime cows £l4 10s to £2O 10s, lighter and inferior cows £9 to £l3 10s. The average price per 1001b was £2 15s to £3 ss. Store cattle: A larger entry and serviceable lines of steers made good prices. Two and 2% to 3-year steers £l3 7s, 2%-year steers £8 15s to £l2, 18 months £6 5s to £7, yearlings £2 7s 6d to £5 15s, cows £3 17s Od to £7 15s. Dairy cows: An average yarding, and keen demand. | Good springing heifers £l3, good mlloh cows to £l6 15s. The veal market was glutted, and prices receded. Runners to £7 ss, good vealers 35s to 65a, fair to medium 15s to 303. There was a very large entry of pigs Fats were In good demand Choppers to £7 10s, heavy baconers £8 to £8 18s 6d, medium baconers £6 5s to £7, lighter £5 5s to £5 15s, the average price per lb being lid to ll%d. Heavy porkers £4 10s to £5, lighter £3 10s to £4 ss, the average price being 12d per lb. Demand was Arm for stores In spite of the heavy supply. The quality was fair. Prtao sold at last week's rates; medium and" Inferior were easier. Store cattle: A large yarding, the bulk of which comprised one and two-year.old beasts There was very little demand for this class Better competition resulted, however, in the sale of aDimals in forward condition, but prices were somewhat lower than late ruling rates. Fat sheep: A good yarding, a total of 2134 being penned. The greater portion of the yarding consisted of shorn sheep.
