A GERMAN SPY.
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN OF LILLE AN AMAZING STORY.'. By Tolesrnpli.—Press Assn - Copyright. Received Dec. 10, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Dec. 8. An amazing story of a mysterious woman spy was revealed at a court-martial at Lille. She kept a complete staff of employees at a chateau near Antwerp, where prospective Belgian and French spies were brought with the utmost secrecy, late at night, in a closed motor. Her dupes deposed that they knew her only as a beautiful blonde lady, who met them in a darkened room, carrying a large bag of gold, which she scattered on the carpet as an inducement to them to betray their country. If the bait took, she presented a smaller bag, saying, "Here's for to-day. If only you will work you will soon be rich." The chateau was equipped with a wireless outfit and countless telephone connections. It is believed that the mysterious unknown woman is a daughter, or a niece, of General Heintich, the ex-Gover-nor of Lille.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
