The Lord Mayoral election has resulted in a deadlock similar to that of 1915, when the Government appointed 'the Lord Mayor. Aldermen Bichards and Lambert received thirteen votes each. The Assembly has adjourned. It is anticipated that Mr. Holman will appoint Alderman Bichards. Prior to the election the committee increased the tnayoral allowance to £ISOO, owing to (bt jtfTues in prises.
