A DIVORCE CASE.
"A BIT OF A ROW." Agnes McArtney (Mr. S. W. Filzherbcrt) petitioned for divorce from her husband, Angus McArtney, on the ground of ilcsertion. 31 r. C. 11. Weston, who represented respondent, intimated that he had been instructed-to withdraw, his defence. Petitioner gave evidence to the effect that the parties were married at Palmerston North in June, 1905, and lived together at Palmerston, Nelson, and Christchurch. In August, 1911, when her sister, with her husband, were staying with" them, there was a bit of a row, and her husband left her, and since then she had maintained herself and her boy, who was the only child of the marriage. She lived with her sister and brother-in-law in New Plymouth. Robert Mascall also gave evidence as to the disturbance in the house at Christchurch, and that from within a year or two of that time, petitioner and her child had lived with him and his wife, maintaining herself and her child. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in throe months, interim custody of the child being given to petitioner.
