THE BUS SERVICE.
NIGHT AND SUNDAY TRIPS. At last night's meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council the following recommendations of the Tramways Committee were adopted in regard to the 'bus service after the pictures at night and on Sundays:— That in reply to its letter of the 28th ultimo, the Westown Progressive Association be informed as follows: That driver of the 'bus will bo instructed on the outward trip at 10,10 p.m. to wait a reasonable time for the closing of the picture theatres, but a certain amount of discretion must be al« lowed him as it is Impossible to wait a very long time. That the morning 'bus running to town in time for the outgoing mail will, as requested, run to the railway station instead of to the Bank of New Zealand corner. That the 8.15 p.m. 'bus will start from the railway station and travel via Brougham Street as requested. Tho 'bus must, however, leave at 8.15 p.m., whether the train has arrived or not. That consideration of the revision of the 'bus fares has been deferred pending receipt of a report, from the electrical engineer, which is now being nro« pared. 6 * That in view of the fact that It is a«. oessary to give the 'bus an overhaul at stated periods it is impossible to execute a Sunday service, but that the electrical engineer will endeavor to run the This on Sundays for special occasions, to be advertised.
