MANY DEMANDS ADOPTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 3, 5.5 p.m. Washington, Nov. 29. The International Labor Conference chose M. Albert Thomas, the French Labor leader, as Director-General of the International Labor Office under the League of Nations. The Conference also adopted reports dealing with unemployment, the abolition of private employment agencies, the I establishment of Government employment bureaux, and unemployment insurance. _ It was decided that recruiting of labor in one country for work in another shall be permitted only on the basis of mutual agreement. The establishment oi an eight-hour day,' a forty-eight hour week, and the abolition of night work for women were also agreed upon.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. I ..
