ALLEGED MISREPRESENTATION, By Telegraph.— Press Association. Christchureh, Last Night. ■ A case of alleged misrepresentation was reported by tjie Charitable Aid Committee to the Hospital Board. The committee had given assistance to an applicant, being informed that the grant was the only means the family had. It, now transpired tha* since June last and up to November 17 the family received the following amounts:—Assistance from the husband's Trades Union £122, assistance from a church organisation £7i>, Hospital Board £35. The Board left the ease to the committee with power to act. „ DYNAMITING TROUT. Oamnru, Last Night, Robert Milligan and George Shenvell were fined £7 and £3 respectively on a charge of dynamiting trout in' the Kakunui river. An important development regarding hydro-electric power from Te Aroha Canyon, in the Kokotahi district, is likely to eventuate in connection with a large mining enterprise on Rimu Flat, where a" strong American company i 3 taking up dredging. The suggestion is that the machinery be worked by electric power generated at Te Aroha. The line, will traverse a large agricultural district, and the enterprise ,is looked upon here with great satisfaction. Another important mining development in the North Teremakau district is also proposed. ASSAULT ON A POLICEMAN. Dtmcdin Nov. 2C. In the police court Percival Alexander Hunter was fined £lO for assault on a police constable. Oliver Peterson and Thomas Edward Smith were each fined £5 for obstructing the police in the performance of their duty.
