At a meeting of the Masterton branch of the Post and Telegraph Association to-night, the following resolution was unanimously carried:— That this general meeting deplores the fact that the Government failed to bring down legislation making it necessary for officers of forty years' service, who are entitled to £250 per annum superannuation, being retired, thus relieving the present stagnation existing throughout the service, and securing more efficient administration by young and more energetic officers. A resolution was also passed, protesting against the failure to honor a promise made by Sir Joseph Ward in regard to the bonus.
