LONDON MARKETS. London, Nov. 22. Oats, Peas, and Beans.—Quiet and firm. Sugar.—Granulated unchanged, free market firm; white Mauritius, on spot, 115s, Java 114s. Wool.—At tho Liverpool wool sales, there was a good demand at full London rates, fine crossbreds selling at from par to 5 per cent, dearer, and others being firm. Bradford reports a strong tone and an active demand for all sorts above forties. Tho prices wero against buyers. SOUTHERN MARKETS. Christcliureh, Nov. 21. Dealings in grain and produce lines arc restricted practically to those between merchants. Very littlo of anything excepting potatoes is being offered by growers, ana In tills line merchants are not disposed to operate. A further shipment, but of small dimensions, is being made by tho Manuka for Sydney. However, to all Intents and purposes the potato market locally is practically dead, very few merchants being disposed to deal in tubers under the present uncertain market conditions. Chaff is in firm demand, tne market readily assimilating all offerings at advanced prices. Ordinary sources of supply in the North Island appear to bo exhausted, as imiuiry from various northern centres for supplies have been frequent during tho past week. Sales have been mndo at up to £7 5s for good oaten sheaf at country stations, but this quotation is merely nominal, as shipping disabilities are restricting operations, and consequently restraining 'offers. Supplies, however, do not appear to be plentiful. At all events, not to an extent to satisfy the demand. The oats market is still firm at recent rates up to 4s 6d for Cartons' and 4s 9d for Dun's at country stations. Tho latter, however, are in such scare supply that very little business in them is taking place, although quantities of small extent aro being held by growers in anticipation of a further rise.
