A NURSE'S DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ChristchuVch, Nov. 24. Archdeacon Ensor, who has just returned from Te Araroa, where his daughter, Nurse ifnsor, recently died of typhoid contracted while acting as volunteer nurse for Maoris suffering from typhoid, intends taking- legal advice with regard to proceedings against the Health Department for contributory negligence. PKAISE FOR WAR WORKERS. Wellington, Last Night. Now that the repatriation of workmen from the overseas dominions and colonies who volunteered their services for the production of ships and munitions during the war is completed, the Governor-Gen-eral has been commanded by the King to give publicity to His Majesty's appreciation of the value of the services rendered by the men who volunteered from New Zealand. His Majesty understands that the excellent behaviour of tnose volunteers, and the sustained and steady application displayed by them in their work, have earned the highest praise, TWO NEW AWARDS, Wellington, Last Night. An amended award for the Wellington bookbinders and paper rulers has been fixed from January 'lst next. The hours of work are to be 45 a week, and the war bonus is increased to, 7s fid a week for ail journeymen, except pieceworkers. An amended award for the Wellington saddlers provides, in addition to a minimum wage, journeymen to receive a bonus of 2id an hour until the Court iixes otherwise. THE KARORI'.S CARGO. The men held another meeting this morning to consider the company's offer, but no decision was arrived at.
