EPIDEMIC OF BURGLARIES.

PALMERSTON NORTH VISITATION. Palmerston N., Nov. 21. Palmerston North has been visited by a number of light-fingered gentry lately, and numerous cases of breaking and entering are reported. One of the leading hotels, which has been visited several times before, was entered in the week, and money and valuables were extracted from the pockets of visitors to the value of £l5O. A leading draper's establishment was broken into and about £l7 was taken from the tills. A bookseller's premises were also entered- by a back window and the contents of the till, amounting to several pounds in silver were taken. Tlss intruder left by the back door, leaving it open. A private house in Terraoe End was also burglariously entered, and about £l7 taken from the clothes of a visitor.
