The latest details available of the war gratuity scheme are that the Treasury will cash bonds in all cases of hardship or special emergency. The Repatriation Department will accept bonds for the purchase of land, homes, and businesses. Banks will accept bonds as collateral security for the purchase of land or houses from private owners. It is proposed to cash £10,000,000 w/orth of bonds in May, 1921, the remainder to be cleared immediately it is possible to raise the money in the local or foreign market—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ,
