Deputy Paul Meunier was arrested, when leaving an election meeting, on a cKrge of treasonable negotiations with the enemy. Received Nov. 18, 1.15 a.m. .Paris, Nov. 15. The latest account states that while the police were searching Meunier's house Meunier locked two inspectors in * room and fled, Tli» inspectors quickly got out and followed Meunier's tracks in the snow for nearly two miles. When approaching Meunier they fired revolvers and the deputy lay down and surrendered. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
