Amongst those present at the final of the Parish Socials on Thursday evening I were Bishop Averill and Archdeacon ! Evans, both of whom gave interesting addresses, the Bishop expressing his thanks for the welcome he had received. Songs were given bv Miss Black, -Messrs P. Coe and Tomfins; Mis? Rogers contributed a violin solo, and Mr. Insull a musical monologue, the accompaniments being played'by Miss Rogers. The music for the dance was played by Rogers' orchestra, the Rev. Howard acting as M.C. At the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. Bailey. S.M., six young men, sons of respectable settlers at Toko, were charged with throwing- stones at a house and letting off fireworks down the chimney. For the stcnn-tlirowing cacli defendant was filled 40s and I*3 costs, and on the fireworks charge a conviction was recorded and 7s costs. Joseph Lcvandowski, charged with assaulting E. Ryan at, Whangamomona on 28th October, was convicted and fined £3, and costs Ins, witnesses' expenses 9s. On n charge of indecent language, he was convicted and discharged. J. Adamson was convicted and fined £3. ''osts as in the other case, for obscene language. The charge against T. Ryan of assaulting Levandowski was dismissed. .1, Rogers, charged with riding a bicvcle without a light in Regan •Street on the evening of 20th October, was convicted and fined 10s. costs 12s. For riding a cycle in Broadway South on the night of the 25th without a light, W. Orr was fined 10s. costs 12s. On the information of the County Ranger (C. Milner) H. Luders was charged with grazing eight head of cattle in' Midhirst township on 6th November. He pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined 13s, costs 12s. Judgment for plaintiff by default with costs was given in the following cases: Rawles- and Rawk's (Mr. Stanford) v. James O'Mallev, Ok Bd- P Clifton (Mr. R. R. Tvrer) v. T. Donald! £1 12s; Same v. E.
