A CHILD'S DEATH.
DROWNED IN A WATER RACE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Carterton, Last Night. A sad drowning accident occurred at Clareville yesterday when a ](i-montl:s old baby ,girl, of Ivr. and Mrs. W. H. Thomns, who was missing at noon, was discovered at night sucked into a water race at a crossing on the road. The child, accompanied bv her four-year-old sister, was playing on the road when she fell through a hole in the race. At an inquest before the district "Coroner to-day a verdict of accidental death was returned.
