FAMINE IN EUROPE.
CONDITIONS BECOMING WORSE. URGENT ACTION ADVOCATED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received Nov. 9, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 8 Lord Parmoor, presiding at a pun lie meeting under the auspices of the "Fight the Famine" Council, said he aimed at impressing Britishers with the urgency of the sufferings of a large portion of Europe. Remedial measures had not been attempted and conditions had been getting worse for a year. Until the pressure of the public opinion of the European peoples achieved a revision of the Peace Treaty enabling industrial co-operation throughout Europe there was small chance of alleviating distress. —Aus.-N.Z.
