THE TEMUKA SEAT. By Telesrapt.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Timaru, Nov. 8. Mr. Thomas Gunnion, Mayor of Temuka, announces his candidature for the Temuka, seat as an Independent Laborite. PATEA ELECTORATE. At a meeting at Hawera on Saturday of supoprters of Mr. W. D. Powdrell'a candidature fqr the' Patea seat there was an attendance of about forty representative men. All present were appointed a committee, with power to act Mr. A. Hunter was elected chairman, and Mr. o.' H. Buckeridge secretary, of the committee.—Star. LIBERAL LEAGUE. A well-attended meeting of the Hawera Liberal League was held at Hawera on Friday nipht in Hawera, when Mr. Morrison, the Liberal candidate, was present. The delegates from the various centres presented encouraging reports. A similar meeting was held at Patea on Thursday night, and satisfactory reports were also received.
