DISCHARGE OF SOLDIERS.
CASES OF UNFIT MEN. STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER. 9y Telegraph.— Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. When questioned by a reporter tonight regarding the allegations by the Returned Soldiers' Association that unfit men were being prematurely discharged, Sir James Allen Baid the matter had come under his notice, and he had been assured by the Medical Department that the action of the Board could tj fully justified. The action -taken was in the interests of the men themselves, as under the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act a soldier was precluded from the benefits of the Act until he received hij discharge. He was not in a position to go into the matter, as no specific cases had yet been brought under his notice.
