Poulet cabled from Baghdad on the sth Inst stating that he left Aleppo in the morning, traversed the desert through Mesopotamia and arrived at Baghdad in the evening, all well Sydney, Nov. 7The following message has been received from Poulet under date Constantinople, October, 30:— "We have had a terrible voyage since leaving Paris. We crossed the Apennines amidst snow and caught a tempest in Albania. We forged ahead amidst torrential rain at an altitude of 100 metres." TTt is over a month since Poulet left Paris. He was favored with fairly good conditions until he reached the Balkans', but there he was considerably delayed by bad weather. His arrival in Baghdad indicates better progress. Prom here he proposed to fly to Bandar, Abbas, Bushire, Karachi, Bombay, Calcutta, Bangkok, Singapore, Batavia, Sumba Island (Dutch East Indies), Palmeraton, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. The route is 14,000 miles, of which 1875 will be over the sea and 2500 over mountains'. Special petrol reservoirs will be carried to enable Poulet to cross the Persian, Indian, and Australian deserts.] CAPTAIN MATTHEWS' PROGRESS. SHORT FLIGHT FROM COLOGNE. Paris, Nov. 5. Matthews left Cologne on his flight t» Australia, but descended at Mayence (80 miles further up the Rhine). [Capt. G. G Matthews, is flying a LarWn Sopwith machine, with Sergeant Kay as mechanic .
