HOLLAND CASTIGATED.

When tlie third reading of the Appropriatiou Bill was being taken to-mglit, Mr. Holland, chairman of the Labor Party, came in for a vory severe castigation from the Minister for Defence. Mr. Holland made a lengthy and detailed statement regarding Miss Rout's antivenereal campaign in Franco. He also attacked certain officers, and protested against the treatment of military de- ( faulters. I Mr. Massey said he objected to tin detailed nature of Mr. Holland's remarks regarding Miss Ilout's campaign, and suggested the galleries ought to be cleared. "The hon. member for Grey," said Sir James Allen, "has displayed right through this war three characteristics—the first is a spirit of vindictiveness, and the second is a spirit of disloyalty to his King, to his country, and to the : men who went from this, country to fight for freedom: lastly, from what he has done to night, he is a reveller in filth. He is vindictive, disloyal, and a reveller | in filth."
