LABOR AT HOME.
SCHEME TO SETTLE DISPUTES. AN INDUSTRIAL COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 6, 9.30 p.m. London, Nov. 4. Sir R. S. Home (the Minister of Labor) has introduced his Bill which establishes an Industrial Court consisting of members representing the employers and the workers, and also independent members chosen by the Minister of Labor. The independents will elect the chairman.
The Minister of Labor may refer any dispute to the Court if both parties consent. If the Court is unable to agree the matter will be decided by the chairman acting with full powers as umpire. The Court will have power to compel evidence and to impose penalties for perjury—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
