A SENSATIONAL BURGLARY. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Dunedin, Nov. 5.' A sensational burglary has been reported to the police. The premises of the Drapery Supply Association having been entered and between £SOO and £6OO in cash and cheques stolen- It is understood 'that during the night the thief entered the house of one -of the partners and Temoved the keys from the tatter's pocket. He then visited the premises and rifled the safe. BREACH OF AN AWARDOamaru, Nov. 5. The magistrate, Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., to-day, fined the North Oamaru Times Co. £lO for breach of the typographers' award for failing to teach an apprentice his trade. BUSH FIRES. Gisborne, Nov. 5. ' The bush fires at Tapnwaeroa Valley, Waiapu, were extinguished by the rains. Several Native farmers lost sheep, one ■ 400, one 100, and others smaller numbers. A missing half-caste has reappeared; no settlers' residences were lost.
