A GIRL'S MARRIAGE.
A FALSE DECLARATION ALLEGED, By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court at Lyttelton, John Charles Lewis was charged with makingsa false declaration for the purpose of procuring a certificate of marriage" from the registrar to marry Alma Alice Loader. Evidence was given that the accused signed a declaration to the effect that the girl was 21 years of age, and that lie married lier on July 16. The girl's mother, in evidence, said she informed Lewis that her daughter was not 21, and she refused to consent. The accused reserved defence, and hewas committed for trial.
