RETURNED SOLDIER'S DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 4. Percy Albert Mercer, a. returned soldier, died in the hospital annexe from poisoning, evidently by a virulent disinfectant. He liatl been suffering from insomnia and shell shock. A DEATH AT SEA. Wellington, Last Night. The police have been advised that John Cullen, a passenger on the Moeraki, died suddenly at sea on Sunday last. The deceased, who was 53 and had been residing at Goulburn, New South Wales, for some years, was seen in his bunk at 3.30 a.m. on Sunday apparently, well, but when noticed at 8 a.m. he was dearl. At the inquest on Mrs. Shep Dixon, found dead on a bed in her husband's residence, the Government Analyist's evidence showed the presence of sheep dip in the stomach. A verdict of suicide was returned.
