| CLAIMS OF THEIR FATHERLAND. SELF-DETERMINATION. "By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 4, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 4. Mr. Ryan, ex-Premier of Queensland, presided at the Irish Convention. Thero were 2000 delegates from the various States and New Zealand present. Archbishop Mannix, in his opening speech, said they were there fsj a declared definite purpose—to support Ireland's claim as expressed in the last general election in Ireland ana to support her chosen leader, de Valera. They were theje not to dictate, but to support Ireland's claim to live her own life and shape her own destiny without outside interference. A resolution was carried in favor of Home Rule for Ireland, and the establishment of a fund in Australia and New Zealand to help the people of Ireland to press to a successful issue the claims for self-determination.
