OLD AGE PENSIONS. London, Oct. 31. The Old Ago. Pensions Conlmittee recommends the Government to increase the pension to 10s weekly, wliich will entail an extra cost of 30 millions. BRITISH RAILWAYS. London, Oct. 81. Mr. Bonar Law states that the railwaymen submitted for consideration proposals involving nationalisation and joint management, which were therefore rejected. The Government decided to establish a committee to advise on matters affecting the relations between the State and the railways. The committee includes two railway workers.—AusN.Z. Cable Assn. COLD STORAGE COMPANY. London, Oct. 31. The Union Cold Storage Company has decided to acquire IS refrigerating steamers comprising the Blue Star fleet. New capital will be issued for the purchase.—Renter.
