STRATFORD.

A man named Martin Nollie, a widower, aged 55, was found dead in the kitchen of the house in which he lived alone at Ngaere, thisi morning. The late Mr'. Nollie was a supplier to the local dairy f actor j, and when he did not come to the factory in the usual way with his milk this morning a visit was paid to his home, and the body discovered. It is understood that death was due to Heart disease, and a medical certificate to that effect will be giver by Dr. Cooper. An inquest will therefore -not be iftcesasry. The deceased leaves two daughter? and one son. The friends of Mr. J. B. Crossan. of Sylvia Street, will be sorry to learn that he is at present seriously ill in the Stratford Hospital. After a long illness, the death took place yesterday, of Mrs. Kneebone, of Mountain Road, at the age of 52. There has been very little rain for the past fortnight in Stratford, and gardens are suffering from want of moisture. • The conditions, however, have so far been ideal for dairy farmers, and. some report very large increases in supplies compared with the same period last year. One farmer stated that he had more than doubled his output. Mr. Masters has engaged a full orchestra of seven players to play at his meeting at the Town Hall to-night from 7.30 to 8 o'clock.
