PACIFIC DEFENCE.
VIEWS ON THE JELLICOE REPORT. WHAT AUSTRALIA WANTS. By Telegraph—Per Press Association. London. October 27. A' representative of the Australian Press Association interviewed Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson, who said he was disinclined to give an a/m-chair criticism on the telegraphed version of Lord Jellicoe's report. He regards Lord Jellicoe as an able organiser and administrator with unique experience. Sir Reginald Henderson, however, believes that Australia's great need in her present financial position is not lavish expenditure on armaments, but on the development of her maritime resources in all directions, including railways to the coast, also an increase of her seafaring population by every means in her power, particularly hy promoting and encouraging the fishing .industry.—Ans.-N.Z.
