THE WAZIRISTUN CAMPAIGN. A PUNITIVE EXPEDITION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 24, 10.35 p.m. Allahabad, October 22. The Government of India announces that a punitive expedition will be made against Waziristun. The Wazirs will be summoned to appear and will be informed of our terms. If the terms are refused they will be given time to remove their women and children and then they will he subjected to an intensive bombardment from the air, followed by other punitive measures. The operations will be under the command of Major-General Clito. Six Infantry brigades will be employed, with (he necessary complement of cavalry, artillery, engineers and other units.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. fA gathering of Wana Waziris attacked a British reconnoitring party between Manphi and Luni on October 5. Waziristun is a section of the mountain tract in the North-West Frontier Province of India, on the Afghan border. The Waziris are the largest tribe on the frontier.
