AMERICAN CONSUL TAKEN BY MEXICANS. By Telegraph.—Proas Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 24, 12.35 a.m. Washington, Oct. 22. The State Department announces that Mr. William Jeifkins, the American Consul at Puebla, in Mexico, was kidnapped by three masked brigands, and is held for a ransom of £30,000. The Mexican Government notified the State Department it would do all possible to secure the liberation of Mr. Jenkins. —Reuter.
