THE PAHIA'TUA SEAT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Woodville, Oct. 22. A meeting of the Reform Party was held last night, Mr. H. Burnett being in the chair and Mr. G. N. Smith, M.P., in attendance. The following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That this meeting of Reform supporters is prepared to accept Mr. A. McNicol as Reform candidate for the Pahiatua seat at the coming election." Mr. Rice, of Te Rehunga, one of the nominees as the Labor candidate, met members of the Labor Party last night, prior to going on to Pahiatua. | THE KAIAPOI SEAT. Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. David Jones, president of the Nortli Canterbury Fanners' Union, has consented to contest the Kaiapoi seat in the Reform interests. THE STRATFORD SEAT. Mr. R. Masters, the Liberal and Labor candidate for the Stratford seat, addressed the electors of Matau last evening. The attendance' whs good, and the address was listened to with keen interest. The address of the candidate on education, shipping, and defence was much appreciated by 'those present, his remarks being frequently applauded. At the conclusion, on the motion of Mr. Milks, seconded by Mr. Hobbs, a very hearty vote of thauks was accorded the speaker. THE MANAWATU SEAT. Mr. Edward Newman, M.P. for Rangitikei, announces that lie will be a candidate for the Manawatu seat in the. Reform interests at the coming elections. Mr. Clutha. Mackenzie has been invited to stand for Auckland East in opposition to the Hon. A. M. Myers, as a Reform candidate.
