The issue price is 98, and it Is repayable In 1924-34. The final instalment of 50 per cent, is payable at the end of January and a half year's Interest Is payable on June 1. Loan and Mercantile Agency's Hawera branch, reports as follows: At Kakaramea on Monday, 13th. inst., we had a fair yarding of store and dairy cattle which sold as follows: Store cows £6 12s to £8 7s, canners £3 to £5 2s lid, yearling heifers £2 4s to £5 15s, yearling steers £2 12s to £4' 3s Od, yearlings, mixed sexes £2 5s to £5, springing heifers £l2 to £2O 10s, inferior ditto £8 to £lO, dairy cows £2s,.hoggets 33s Id, sows in pig £6 15s. At Eltham on Wednesday, we had a good average yarding which met with a ready eale, and most lines were disposed of under the hammer. We quote as follows: Fat cows £l2 Is, store cows £0 5s to £8 3s 6d, canners £4 to £4 Ba, 2-year empty heifers £7 7s 6d to £8 3s, bulls £8 10s to £IS Gs, yearling heifers £2 8s to £5 ss, yearling steers £4 Bs. to £5 18s, yearlings, mixed sexes £3 9s, ewes and lambs £2 ss, forward empty ewes 34s 9d, full-mouthed empty ewes 24s 9d, hoggets 28s 6d. At Hawera on Thursday, we had another good yarding of cattlo, and a fair entry of sheep: Light fat cows made £ll 12s 6d to £l2 ss, forward cows £9 13s to £lO, store cows £6 16s to £8 143, Idmplt? 2-frear heifers £5 lis to £7 lis, yearling heifers £3 lis to £4 4s Od, yearling steers £4 3s Bd, forward empty ewes 33s 6d, hoggets 22s iiil to 31s (id, culls 16s 3d, ewes and lambs £1 Gs 6d to £1 15s, store pigs £2 10s to £3 16s 3d, ewes and lambs £1 6s Gd to £1 I 15s, store pigs £2 10s to £3, small ditto £1 9s to £1 16s. Best 3-year springing heifers £lB to £23, others £l2 5s to £l6, inferior ditto £7 to £lO 10s, best daijry cows close to profit £24 to £25, otaers £l3 15s to £l7. At Hawera on Friday, we held our annual bull fair, and offered a large entry to a good attendance of buyers, and report a good sale. The following prices were realised: 3-year pedigree Jersey bulls 25gns. to 45gns., 1-year ditto 17gns., 2-year Shorthorn bulls 12gns. to 21gns., 2-year Holsteln bulls 12gns. to 15gns., 2-year cross breeds ll%gns to 15% pis., poor conditioned ditto 6%gns. to lOgns. The Stratford branch reports as follows: — On the 14th. Inst., at our Stratford yards we had a good entry of dairy cattle and Btoro cattle: Store cows In forward condition brought £9 12s 6d to £ll ss, others £7 to £8 lis, 2-year steers £6 17s to £7 10s, 2-year Jersey empty heifers £8 9s 6d to £8 15s, 2-year empty heifers, mixed sorts, £7 to £7 12s, yearling steers 06s to 90s, yearling lielfers, ordinary sorts, 91s, Holsteln and Jersey cross 102s to 121s, dairy cows, close up and nice sorts, £l7 10s to £24 10s, otnera £lO 15s to £l2 ss, heifers close to profit £l3 to £ls, others £8 7s Od to £ll ss. On tho 15th. inst., at our monthly salo, in conjunction with Newton King, in our Kohuratahl yards, we had a good entry of empty heifers, backward springing heifers, and yearling and 2-year steers. Two-year empty heifers bruught £7 12s Od to £7 19s 6d, others, in low eondition, £6 2s Od to £6 7s 6d, yearling to 15-month steers £5 Is, others £3 to £4. On tho I7th. inst., at our Matau yards, everything was sold at the hammer. Store cows brought £7 Is, steers, mixed colors, £9 Gs, 18-months steers, small cattle, £3 10s to £3 15s, yearling heifers £5, 18-month ditto £7 to £7 18s. in calf heifer's £7 13s 6d, ewes and lambs 375, 2 and 4-tooth sheep (mixed sexes) 30s, On the 18th. inst, we held a horse fair In our Stratford yards, and good milk carl and farm horses are still In good demand. They realised for aged horses £l6 10s to £32 10s, others £25 to £3O, hacks and harness horses brought from £6 15s to £ls, ponies £7 ss, gig £lO 15s. Private Sales—With the growth of feed we have had greater Inquiry and keener demand with the following results: Yearling' to 15month steers, good, up to £5 2s Gd, Jersey yearling heifers £7, 2-year steers £6 10s to £7, dairy cows £ls to £lB, springing heifers I 214, others £8 15s to £9 10s, 4-tooth ewes empty 35s Cd, hoggets 20s 6d to 30s, I full-mouth ewes and lambs 37s 6d to 3Ss, i 4-tooth wethers 3Gs 6d.
FARMERS CO-OP. SOCIETY'S REPORT. On Saturday, at Hawera, wo conducted our supplementary horso fair, when we offered under the hammer an entry of 150 horses. There was a large attendance of the public buyers being present from Auckland and Palmirston, and practically every district of Taranakl was represented. The entry comprised a large proportion of good draught mares and geldings, together with the usual number of spring carters and hackneys Bidding was spirited throughout, and a Tecord salo resulted, practically the whole of the entry finding new stables at auction at highly satisfactory prices. Quotations: Unbroken draughts £ls to £35, unbroken hackneys £5 to £l2, ponies (unbroken) £2 10s to £0 15s good young draught mares and geldings £25 to £4O, medium ditto £ls to £24, milk carters £l7 to £32, cobs and hacknoys £,3 to £9. On the same day at Stratford, wo report a very large yarding, which sold at ?ate rates. On Thursday at Manilla, we held a most successful bull fair on account of Mr. Alf Gamlln. At Auroa on Friday, there was a good entry, which changed hands at late rates.
