Washington, October IS, Mr Walsh, during a debate in the Senate, in a speech said that he hoped that Ireland through the intercession of tiie United States might at least have a hearing before the League of Nations. Such intercession would be permitted under Article Eleven of the covenant. The Irish question was not a domestic one,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. t SINN FEINERS' RUSE. A SECRET MEETING IN DUBLIN. London, Oct. 10. O'Keefe and five other Sinn Fein hunger strikers have been removed from Mount Joy Prison to hospital. The police and the military occupied the Dublin Mansion House this morning' with a view of preventing the Assembly of the annual Sinn Fein Convention. However, no delegates arrived and it transpired that the Convention' had already been held at midnight and the business completed at three in the morning. London, October 17. Despite the proclamation, Sinn Feiners held a midnight convention in Dublin, at which a hundred delegates were present They disposed of all their business, Mr Griffith., advised Sinn Seiners to have nothing to do with the Government's Home Rule proposals, which were meant as eyewash for Ame-rica.—Aus.-N.Z. MORE SINN FEINERS RELEASED. AUSTRALIAN CHAPLAIN DETAINED. Received Oct. 19, 11.5 p.m. . London, Oct. 18. Twenty.nine Sinn Feiners have been released. The police and the military dosed the Sinn Fein Headquarters at Dublin and seized a number of documents. '■ Father O'Donnell, a chaplain in the Australian Forces, was arrested at a Dublin hotel and confined under an armed guard at the military barracks. The reasons-for his arrest have not yet been disclosed.—Aus.-N.Z. Caible Assn.. RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS. Received Oct. 19, 5;5 pin, London, October 18.
