The Time*' Paris correspondent statea that it is reported Japan has notified the French and United States' Governments the date on which she is willing to return Shantung to China. The American Peace Delegation lias not received any notifieatidn from JapanTimes Service. NEW BATTLE CRUISERS. New York, Oct. IC. A despatch from Tokio states that according to Press reports the Government has decided to build two battle-cmiser3 and twenty-one other warships commencing at the next fiscal year. Estimates will he submitted at the next session of th'e Diet. The cruisers will be 40,000 tons.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
