Received Oct. 16, 10.25 p.m. Berlin, Oct. 15 The food supply is completely d'sorganised owing to a strike of 15,080 mambers of engaged to deal with the rationing system. There is great public indignation, as the strike has arisen owing to the refusal of a demand for an increase In salaries by 250 marks monthly, payment to be retrospective for five months, involving an additional annual expenditure by the Municipality of Berlin of 45 million marks. The authorities threaten to dismiss the strikers unless they resume on Thursday. _ Although there is no apparent political motive it is significant that"the (Strike originated among the Independent Socialists.—Aus.-NX Cable Assn. THE WAR-MAKERS. SEEKING OUT THE GUILTY. Received Oct. 16, 7.10 p.m. ' Berlin, Oct. 16. A Parliamentary Committee is sitting for the purpose of inquiring who were responsible for the war. The Vorwaerts says that the guilty ones pitilessly made history for millions. Now history will pass sentence pitilessly for individuals.—Reuter. SPARTACISTS FOMENT STRIKE. '** Berlin, Oct. 34. The Spartacists fomented a general strike at Ludwigßhafen. Machine-guns were placed, at different points, and it is expected the town will be proclaimed in a state of siege. Fifteen thousand food supply employees have struck for higher wages. The tramwaymen in Berlin have joined the metal workers' strike. The national tribunal at Munich sentenced Katnmerstetter to death for the murder of hostages, and three of his accomplices were sentenced to fifteen years' penal servitude.—Aub.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
