KEEN COMPETITION AT WAIWAKAIHO. j That dairy farmers are each year realising more" and more the necessity of having bulla of proved mllklni! strain at the head of their herds was evidenced yesterday by the large a-nd representative attendance of fanners from all parts of Taranaki and outside districts at llr. Newton King's annual fair of pedigree and grade bulls, which was held at WalwaUaiho. Jerseys, which were penned In large numbers, were most in demand and elicited spirited competition, tile whole of those submitted being disposed of at satisfactory figures. The higheft price realised was fit) gns., which was touched by three animals, viz., a two-year-nld bull submitted on behalf of Mr. Coulter being purchased by the Weraroa State Farm. Levin, a three-year-old bull submit'ed by Jlr. H. C. Sampson, which goes to the Waikato, and a yearling submitted by Mr. H. E. Lepper, which remains at Bell Block. Other breeds were not in such keen demand. Grades also realised satisfactory prices. Mr. C. R. Falrbroilier, who welidod the hammer throughout, was in his usual good form.
