SPORTING.
TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met last night Present: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (in the chair), W. C. Weston, G. Fraser, W, P. Nicoll, J. McLeod, A. R. Standish, W, T. Hookham, B. H. Chaney, 0. W. Sole. Certificates of fitness were granted to Richard Brown, E. J. Reid (prorided Wanganui has no objection), Ceo. Edgecombe (provided Rawke's Bay has no objection). It was decided to obtain prices for additions to the tea kiosk. The committee set up to arrange for catering for the coming season reported a satisfactory arrangement for the two meetings. It was decided to request the New Plymouth publicans to submit prices for the publican's booth at the same terms as last year. Two new members were elected. It was decided to ask the Railway Department for special trains for tho Christmas meeting. A number of matters in connection with the forthcoming meetings were arranged. Accounts amounting to £lll 15s 3d were passed for payment.
