It is reported that a company has offered the London County Council a rental of £55,000 annually for 95 years for the lease of the Aldwych site adjoining Australia House. The company intends to establish a permanent exhibition of British and Dominion manufactured goods, a commercial intelligence bureau, and a buyers' club. BRITONS AND MEXICO. New York, Oct. 11. A despatch from Mexico says that the Foreign Office announces that the passport difficulties with Britain have been adjusted. \ [The Mexicans are proposing to refuse to admit Britons to Mexico.] FRENCH CENSORSHIP ABOLISHED. Paris, Oct. 12. In view of the Senate's ratification of the Peace Treaty, the censorship will abolished and the state of siege raised to-morrow. JUGO-SLAV NAVAL DISASTER. Rome, Oct. 12. The battleship Franz Josef, which was allotted to Jugo-Slavia, was lost in a hurricane. She was carrying ammunition for the whole Jugo-Slav navy. A despatch from Tokio states that it is understood the difficulty of the Japanese protection of the trans-Siberian railway had been settled and negotiations between the United States and Japan have ended.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. JAPAN SIGNS PEACE TREATY. Tokio, Oct, 11. The Privy Council approved the Peace Treaty, which will now be submitted to the Emperor. RADIUM IN CANADA. London, Oct. 12. A telegram from Toronto announces that deposits of radium ore have been discovered in the Nipissing district (Ontario). THE WAR OFFICIALLY OVER. Received Oct. 13, 9.40 p.m. Paris, Oct. 12. It is expected that the decree promulgating the ratification of the Peace Treaty will be gazetted on the 13th inst., thus completing the ratification by the three Great Powers and officially ending the state of war. —Reuter,
