REPATRIATION.
NEW PLYMOUTH COMMITTEE.. A meeting of the New Plymouth Repatriation Committee was held Monday evening. Present: Messrs C. H. Weston (chairman), W. ,T. Chanev. T. Furlong, V. W. Okey, C. Carter, H. j. Clarke, T. C List, .1. R. Rowlands, E. B. Ellerm, E. Whittle. The secretary reportted that employ-, ment had been found during the paet : week for two men, and that there were, six names on llie unemployment register, viz., two seeking clerical work, one, electrical, one teacher, one general labor, and one light work. The following applications for loans were recommended: £3OO for dairy stock and implements, £2OO for fruit and confectionery business, £3OO for the purchase of a hire motor car, £3OO for a bakery and grocery business, £;)00 for furnishing, a private hotel, £2OO for a motor lorry, £;"i0 for farm implements, and two loans of £SO paeh for furniture. A loan of £8 for the purchase of carpenter's tools was also approved. A proposal for the purchase of a motor lorry mis referred back to the executive.
