ENTERTAINMENTS.

"WOMAN AND THE LAW" TO-NIGHT. The struggle of a woman for her child and the lengths to which she will go for it's protection are picturised with tremendous dramatic intensity in the William Fox photoplay, "Woman and the Lnw," which will be the attraction at Everybody's theatre to-night and to.morrcw. Written and staged by E. A. Walsh, the brilliant young director of the Fox forces, it presents a picture of timely.-ahd pertinent interest to everyone. Eased on the internationally sensational De Saulles case, which so shocked the United States and South America and which was discussed in every home in the country, it is said, the thrilling moment when the woman who has slain for the sake of her child faces the jury which is to decide her fate, depicts a situation to hold the most hardened play-goer spellbound. The supporting programme embraces a five-reel feature "The Primal Lure," starring William S. Hart, and the Gaumont Graphic

TJNCLE TOM'S CABIN. A magnificent production of that moat successful play, "Uncle Tom's Cabin," is now showing at the People's Theatre. It is told as dramatically on the screen as it ever was on the stage. Dear, gentle, old Uncle Tom, the mischievous Topsy, and sweet Little Eva are all there. The picture thrills more than the book did. The play reveals the terrible treatment of the blacks by the whites—the cruelties and all the passions of the early dawn. In playing the two roles of Topsy and Little Eva, Marguerite Clark was compelled to change from one make-up to another at least a hundred times whils the Paramount picture was being produced, making it the most inconvenient part she has ever interpreted for ths screen. "The Fighting Trail," starring William Duncan and Carol Holloway is also on the bill, as well as Burton Holmes and comedy. The special matinee tomorrow commences at 3.30.
