I ' THE FICTE TROUBLE. J By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 5. The Belgrade correspondent of the Times reports that two battalions newly arrived from Italy promptly joined D'Annunzio. The poet's flamboyant ambitions are shown in the proclamation lamenting the insufficiency of troopa for the purpose of occupying Spalato, Cattaro and other southern seaports. The correspondent adds that snch provocations were once calculated to. produce a most serious outburst through .Tugo-Slavia, but fortunately a I'calmer spirit exists since the Paris delegation assured the Jugo-Slavs that the League of Nations would ultimately protect their vital interests.—Aus.-N.Z. FIUME BLOCKADE RAISED. . . Rome, Oct. 4. The Fiarne blockade has been raised. French and American warships have quitted Spalanto, and only the Italian cruiser Puglia remains. Italian troops at the instance of the warship's commander left Trau before the arrival of the Americans and Serbians.
