Sheep, however, were not numerous, though, those offered sold at rates equal to late quotations, a nice line of ewes and lambs "selling very satisfactorily. One unusual pen—goats, or as someone oliaffingly nicknamed them—-black-berry bursters—found a buyer at 10b. The cattle were rather slower of sale than has lately been the rule; voting fteers, unless of specially good quality, were evidently not in demand. The store cows offered were of better quality find more sought after. A nice line of mixed yearlings realised £4 10s. The dairy stock presented were in many cases small and far from first-class condition, no doubt owing to the fact that Ihe district lias been fairly combed for anything really good of this description,' Nevertheless as high as £lll 10s was realised for a black-and-white (Fric'sian strain) cow near profit; while £l4. was the highest price obtained for a springing heifer.
