METEOROLOGY.
THE EMPIRE CONFERENCE. Received Oct. 3, 12.26 a.m. London, Oct. 1. - The Empire conference of meteottloH , gists was held at the 'Air Ministry, Mr< H. A. Hunt representing Australia and ' the Rev. D. C. Bates New Zealand. The conference considered the selection of the most suitable world-wide stations for the general study of climaology, Had discussed a scheme for wireless trann mission of meteorological information covering Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa. It was suggested that similar schemes should be adopted by'the Dominions. The Rev. Bates moved, and it trafj '' unanimously carried, to establish a per* maiient Empire Association. Mr. Napier Shaw was elected president* The Air Ministry hopes the conference will result in the complete co-operation of the Empire.
