The Stock Eichange Is very Quiet, and prices are a shade lower, but there is no pressure to sell. The market closed steady. At the London wool sales there was a moderate attendance. Tho general position is unchanged. There was good, general competition. Prices remain fully Arm. At tho Bradford sales there was a poor attendance. The strike dominates the situation.—Aus.-N.Z. Inst., we held our usual fortnightly sale at Okaiawa, when there was an average yarding of cattle. We quote' Hoggels 15s 6d to 31s, fat cows £l2 6s forward cows £ll is. store cows £7 17s Od to £9 9s, 18-month steers £0 10s, weaner heifers £5 3s 6d to £6 14s, weaner steers £4 dnlrv heifers £9 5s to £ll 10s. On Tuesday, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. T. N. Blackhr'l. when everything sold at ruling rates. On Wednesday, at our Elthnm sale, there was a good yarding of sheep and cattle.' Prices ranged as follows: Weaner pigs £1 17s, hoggets £1 3s 9d, forward ewes £1 19s Cd, store cows £8 6s to £lO, light store cows £5 to £0 12s (id, bulls £C 10s to £lO, weaner steers £2 to £4 7s, weaner heifers £:•> lis. to £5 2s lid, dairv cows £l6 5s to £lO 15s, dairy heifers £G to £l4 At Hawera on Tuesday, there was a moderate yarding of all classes of stork, which sold well up to market values. On Friday, at Inglewood yards, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Messrs. Ansford Pros., when we report a successful sale. Prices were: Hoggets 31s 3d. 6-tooth wethers £2 4s, forward ewes 38s 9d, 4-tooth wethers £2 Is 2d. maiden ewes £1 19s M, hoavy fat cows £l9 to £2l, fat cows £l4 12s 6d to £ls 10s, 3-year bullocks £lO Gs to £ll 10s, 18-month steers £7 ss, empty heifers £0 10s to £7 14s, Jersey heifers £6 17s. weaner heifers £J 15s to £5, Jersey bulls £8 10s to £l3 10s, Shorthorn and Holsteln bulls £6 10s to £l2 10s, yearling Holsteln bulls £4 15s to £6 10s.
