Pupils of Miss Brough.—Elementary: Alice Hayward; primary, Rachel fiowe. Two candidates have been nominated for the vacancy In tho Borough Council caused bv the resignation of Mr. T. Buchanan—Messrs T. R Ford and C. H. Johnston, and nn election to fill the position will be held on Frida\ nex 4 , October :i. - • Mr. T. Taylor, of Waitara, has been appointed to fill the vacancy on the Waitaru Fire Board. The following produce was shipped from Waitara by the .s.s, Essex: 33.4 X;; carcases mutton, 130 carcases lamb, 112 sacks and crates of sundries, 168 casl;s tallow, 809 cases preserved meats, and 2269 bales wool.
