ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
1 —» AUCKLAND CASES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A returned soldier, C. Mackie, an accountant, was found in a dazed condition in a hotel on Saturday afternoon and died soon afterwards. Deceased was married. Walter Wh'yle, aged 9 years, of Avondale, was kicked by a horse and received severe internal injuries. An operation was performed in the hospital, but the sufferer now lies in a serious concfi- i tion. 1 KILLED WHILE MOTOR-CYCLING. | Wellington, Last Night. ' A shocking fatality occurred at the ' corner of' Davis Street and Thorndon ' Quay at 0 p.m. on Saturday. Frederick ■ William Jollands, William Gunter, and' ' George Sullivan were returning home on f a motor-cycle after a ride to Petone. , Gunter wa3 driving, Jollands and Sullivan riding behind. When endeavoring to turn into Davis Street at high speed Gunter lost control of the machine, and , the three men were thrown to the ground, Jollands being killed almost instantly, the other two being badly injured and rendered unconscious. Jollands was married, aged 49 years. Gunter and Sullivan were removed to the hospital and have not yet recovered consciousness. FISHERMAN'S BODY RECOVERED. Gisborne, Sept. 27. The body of Rewi Gillrhan, lost in the wreck of a fishing smack yesterday, was found to-day washed up on Tuamotu IslandA BOY'S BODY FOUND. Auckland, Sept. 27. A dead body was found in the bar- « bor which is believed to be that of a boy, aged 11 years, named Edward Nash, who has been missing since September 14. When fishing with another . boy he left his companion to get some mussels, and was not afterwards seen alive. '•
