ADDINGTON. .Christchurcli, Sept. 24. 1 At Addlngton market there were smaller yarding* of Store sheep. There was a good demand, and the tone of the market was very firm. Two-tooth ewes, 28s; two and fourtooth, 38s; two, four, and six-tooth, 31s 9d to 375; four, six, and eight-tooth, 33s to 30s 8d; four and sir-tooth wethers, 35s 4d; ewe hoggets, 27s 7d; mixed-sex hoggets, 23s 9d to 29s ,8d; wither hoggets, 16s 8d to 20s Id. I'iit cattle: 258 wero yarded, the quality being mixed. The market opened at Inst week's rates, and hardened towards the finish. Extra prime steers, to £33 15s 8d; prime, £l9 to £26 10s; ordinary, £l2 10s to £18; extra prime cows, £2 15s; prime, £l3 to to £l9 10s; ordinary, £lO 5s to £ls 10s; extra prime cows, £2 15s prime, £l3 to £18; ordinary, £8 17s 6d to £l2. Pat slieep: A very small yarding, barely four races being filled. The general quality was rather below last week's and only a few were extra heavy sorts. The demand was exceptionally keen, and prices soared up and up until they reached from 6s to 8s above last week's high rates. The result of these high prices will be a demand for meat ex freezing store. The range of prices was; Extra prime wethers, to 85s; prime, 45s Od to 70s; medium, 42s 6d to 455; lighter, 33s to 40s; extra prime ewes, to 60s; prime, 45s to 54s 9d; medium, 40s to 42s 6d; lighter, 33s to 35s 6d; hoggets, 26a to 42s 6d. Store cattle: .An Improved lot vrtre offered, and thcro was an average demand. Two-year-old steers, £5 12s 6d; tno-joar-otu heifers, £6 ss; yearlings, £4 10s; calves, £1 2p to £2 13s 6d; cows, £5 12s 6d to £8 15s. Dairy cows; The yards were about on a par with last week, with a better demand. Second and third calvers, £lO to £l7; others, £6 to £10; springing heifers, £7 to £l2 103. Yealers: A po6r entry was oflered, consisting mainly of newly-dropped calves Good calves, 70s to 995; fair, 41s to 60s; small and Inferior, 4s to 38s. Pigs: A medium entry of store pigs, and better demand Bent stores, 60s to 68s; medium, 52s to 58s; small, 35s to 455; weaners, 25s to 355. The demand was not so keen. Extra heavy baconer3, to £8 10s; heavy £0 10s to £7 17s; medium, £5 to £6 (equal to lOd per lb); heavy porkers, 85s to 90s; medium, 65s to Ms (equal to lid per lb); choppers, £6 to BUP.NSIDE.
Dunedln, Sept. 24. At Burnside 127 fat cuttle were panned. Except for a few pens the quality was not equal to Inst week's standard. Owing to the small yarding prices advanced about £1 per head. Prime lieavy bullocks, £3O to £3B 10s; prlmo, £24 to £2B; extra prime heifers to £25; prime, £lB to £2O; medium, £ls to £l7 10s; light unfinished, £lO upwards. Fat sheep: 1019 penned, mgptly of good quality. The wethers market opened at a slight advance on late rates, and quickly Improved, but eased again towards the finish. Ultra prime heavy wethers, to 68s 3d; prime, O.rs to-635; medium, 40s to 50s; lighter, 38s to 435; extra prime heavy ewes, to 55s 60; good, 38s to 425; older ewes, from 30s; extra primo hoggets, 34s 6d to 475. Pigs; A medium yarding. Prices were slightly above late rates. Baconers, to 141s; slips, to 40s; v.eaners, 20s to 30s. *
