SHOOTING AFFRAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Yesterday. A sensational shooting affair occurred on Saturday night, a returned soldier named Alfred Eastwood and another man named Whitley saw a man named Thomas Innes carrying some timber which they believed lie had taken from the sewerage works in tho vicinity. They asked him where lie was taking it to, and Innes, it is alleged retorted, "If you don't get away I will sjioot you," and producing a revolver, shot Eastwood in the groin. Passers-by bailed Innes up against the fence and, relieving him of the weapon, detained him till the police arrived. Innes wa3 arrested on charges of theft and causing actual bodily harm. ' Eastwood's injuries, it is believed, will not prove Berioue. .
