MURDER OF DETECTIVE HOEY A PREMEDITATED ACTION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. IG, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 14. The late Detective Hoey acted as a bodyguard to three Irish Chief Secretaries. Two of those on the list, including Hoey, have thus far been murdered. Hoey was followed throughout the day before an opportunity was found. At least three bullets penetrated liis body. A number of the county councils are angry at the heavy levies made upon thorn for murders and outrages. Thus the Mayo council is required to pay •£ftOQO, and Tipperary £24,000. —Aus.
